On the Tanawah Trail

Thoughts from the Trail

Yesterday I went on a small hike with my friend Emily on the Tawana Trail off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was the first day we had sunshine in several weeks and it was needed. It felt wonderful to be in space with an authentic friend, sunshine, and beautiful landscapes. I don’t always feel productive when it is gloomy outside. I wonder if I forced myself to paint, even if it was in my journal. Could I develop better practices?

That being said, the hike yesterday was lovely. She took me to some hidden spots looking over a small valley and across the way I could see Snake Mountain and Elk Knob. I would like to go back there and sit all afternoon with the landscape, see if it would share some of its secrets with me.
